About the Role


As the Supervisor Village Operations, you will play a vital role in the successful running of village operations, reporting directly to the Village Operations Superintendent. You will be a skilled communicator with proven people management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. You will have the ability to build and support teams and be a safety leader with an understanding of HSE and HR legislation.

You’ll contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and will be an innovative thinker with a strong head for business and running projects, experience in a similar role is not essential as we are looking for people who consider the big picture and bring their perspective to our operations.

Responsibility includes:

  • Monitoring contractors providing services within WAIO Villages by the requirements of the BHP WAIO Contractor Management Framework.
  • Review and provide input into the development of Village policies.
  • Actively participate in the management of Material Risk within WAIO Villages.
  • Provide proactive administration and management WAIO Village Contractors.
  • Liaise with Contractor to drive continuous improvement of contract service levels.
  • Engage with WAIO Village Contractors to develop ongoing plans towards the improvement of Village Services.
  • Engage with residents and stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • In absence of the Superintendent Village Operations, the Supervisor will be expected to act as the representative for all matters related to the operations at the villages and service contracts.

About You


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated supervisory Experience role within hospitality, facility management or similar industry.
  • Demonstrate effective management of HSEC incidents by ensuring that relevant incidents and hazards are identified, reported, investigated and managed.
  • Previous people management and project management experience.
  • While it's not mandatory, experience in the mining industry will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to speak in Infront of a large group.
  • Well-develop analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft suite system and SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Able to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug &alcohol testing and police check 
  • Current full WA Manual Driver’s licence

Location


You will be based at ‘Warrawandu Camp’ which provides accommodation to the Jimblebar mine site on a fly-in fly-out 7 days on, 7 days off (12 hours shift) roster. Jimblebar a brownfield mine which, in 2013 was the first in over 40 years to be both developed and operated by BHP and is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia. The outstanding facilities at the village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, golf driving nets, outdoor cinema, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court; beach volleyball court, games room and TV lounge. All rooms in the village have access to 3G wireless internet and Skype, an ensuite bathroom, flat-screen television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
